1-1. Right to Receive Consultation

Patients have the right to receive appropriate medical services for the protection and promotion of their health. Patients' rights to health shall not be infringed upon on the grounds of gender, age, religion, social status, economic circumstances, or any other reason. Healthcare professionals shall not refuse medical treatment without justifiable grounds.

1-2. Right to Know and Right to Self-Determination

Patients have the right to receive sufficient explanations from their attending physicians, nurses, or other healthcare professionals regarding their medical condition, methods of treatment, whether they are subjects of medical research, organ transplantation, expected outcomes including possible side effects, and medical expenses. Patients may ask detailed questions and decide whether to provide consent to such treatment or procedures.

1-3. Right to Protection of Confidentiality

Patients shall not suffer infringement of their physical, health-related, or personal privacy in connection with medical care. Healthcare professionals and medical institutions shall not disclose or publicize any confidential information concerning patients without the patient's consent, except as otherwise required or permitted by law, including in cases of criminal investigation.

1-4. Right to Request Consultation and Mediation

In the event of any dispute arising in connection with medical services, patients may apply to the Korea Medical Dispute Mediation and Arbitration Agency or other relevant institutions for consultation and mediation.

2-1. Responsibility to Trust and Respect Healthcare Professionals

Patients shall accurately provide healthcare professionals with relevant information regarding their health condition and shall respect and cooperate with the treatment plans established by healthcare professionals in order to receive appropriate medical care.

2-2. Responsibility Not to Obtain Medical Services by Fraudulent Means

Patients shall disclose their true identity prior to receiving medical services and shall not obtain medical services through false, fraudulent, or improper means, including the use of another person's name.
